# 894 Launching the Database Server as a Regular Application from Another Service Fails

We like to launch customers' server executables from a special service app (it just does a shellexecute command). This prevents it from showing up on the desktop, and runs under a tighter security context (this is how IIS maintains security for its web apps). Most executables ran fine, without requiring changes. For some reason, DBISAM servers do not run at all when launched this way!
