# 1233 Calling the Locate Method Results in a Field Not Found Error
there is a problem using locate in 3.17. The problem obviously occurs if you use persistent fields and the table contains a field that is not in the persistent fields collection.

DBISAM was using the fields collection to examine which indexes to use for the locate. When one of the fields in a given index was not available due to not being added as a persistent field it would cause this error.
