# 1354 Invalid Date/Time Values in String Fields Converted To Date/Time Fields Causes Invalid Dates

i want to insert some records from a sourcetable to a destintable by using SQL. When i use the cast Funktion to convert Fieldtype "String" to Fieldtype "Timestamp" the resultvalue always show 30.12.1899. There ar no NULL or "" Stríngs.

Comments and Workarounds

The problem was originally caused by invalid date/time values (non-ANSI) in the string fields. However, the bug is that the result should be a NULL when the string field cannot be converted to a proper date/time instead of 12/30/1899.

Resolution

Fixed Problem on 6/26/2003 in version 3.25 build 1
