# 2641 Connecting a Session With Pinging Turned Off Can Cause AV

I'm getting an odd error message from the TEDBSession component in my client app:

If I set RemotePing to False (at Design time), I get a EDB_ERROR_UNKNOWN code from my exception handler when opening the connection with the server.

If I step through the code, the IDE shows an AV when executing DbSession.Open - if I break at this point, it puts the cursor on
InternalConnect in TEDBSession.SetConnected.
