# 2805 Using Remove Server Session Task Link in ElevateDB Manager Can Cause Error

While investigating how I can get everyone off the server in preparation for a backup restore, I've come across the DISCONNECT SERVER SESSION and REMOVE SERVER SESSION statements.

DISCONNECT seems to work as expected, but if I issue a REMOVE in EDB Manager either via New Statement or "Manage Server Sessions...", I get an AV. "Manage Server Sessions..." pops up a "cannot perform this action on a closed dataset" message. If I check the server log, it shows two AVs: one for a Free Statement and another for Close Database. I have to
stop and start the server to recover.

The AV was a different issue that is described in incident report #2811. The error that was specific to the ElevateDB Manager was the "cannot perform this action on a closed dataset" error.
