# 2853 Installation of .NET Data Provider Does Not Work Properly with Visual Studio Server Explorer

I have visual studio 2008 sp1 and I try to use your 201b5edbdactrial but when I want to use it to add new connection in visual studio, I have a message about not being able to find the proper assembly.

Comments and Workarounds

The problem was caused by an improper XML node addition to the machine.config file. The workaround is to manually install the .NET data provider assembly into the GAC (Global Assembly Cache).

Resolution

Fixed Problem on 11/14/2008 in version 2.02 build 4
