ElevateDB 2.04 Build 3 is now available for download. This build introduces support for the new Embarcadero Delphi XE product line. It also contains bug fixes for several incident reports, which are detailed here.
2.04 B3 Configuration Fix
There is an issue with the streaming of locking information for any modules created using the CREATE MODULE statement with 2.04 Build 1 or 2. This issue is detailed here:
# 3313 Configuration Not Properly Saving Locking Information for Created Modules
If you have created any modules using the CREATE MODULE statement with 2.04 Build 1 or 2, including any migrator modules auto-created for you using the ElevateDB Manager's Create Database Migrators option, then you must run a utility to fix the configuration where the module information is stored. This utility is called edbfix204config.exe and is a command-line application located in the:
subdirectory under the main installation directory for the ANSI utility, and in the:
subdirectory for the Unicode utility.
To run this utility, open a command prompt under Windows and type in the utility name followed by a space and the path of the configuration file that you wish to fix. For example, if you want to fix the configuration file in the c:\myapplication directory, you can do so by using the following command:
The most important parameter to the utility is the configuration path, but there are also other parameters for configurations that use non-standard encryption passwords, signatures, extensions, etc. You can find out the order of these parameters by executing the utility without any parameters specified, which will result in the utility outputting a description of the various parameters to the command window.
If the configuration file is fixed successfully, then a copy of the original configuration file will be saved in the same configuration path with an extension of .old. If any errors are encountered during the execution of the utility, the error will be output to the command window and the utility will terminate with an exit code of 1.

Server Hard Drive Failure

Unfortunately, we experienced a fatal hard drive failure on one of our server drives this afternoon. The drive that failed contains some our web site images and other miscellaneous pieces, so please bear with us as we resolve this issue over the next couple of weeks.
Some of the site data was lost also, but only since last night for most data, and since Saturday evening for the support forum messages. We do a full backup, including the very large tables for the support forum messages, on Saturday evenings. If you have posted a message since around 11:30pm Saturday evening (EST -5:00 GMT) and did not receive a response yet, please re-post the message. If you registered as a new user on the web site since 11:30PM last night (August 31st), then please re-register with the same information.
My apologies for any inconveniences this may cause you. Hopefully we will have everything back to normal shortly.

We will not be sending out build notifications for this build, so this is the only notification that is available for this build.
ElevateDB 2.04 Notes and Updated Roadmap

ElevateDB 2.04 is finally complete and released, so we can all take a break here at Elevate Software.
Well, not exactly. 
Now that ElevateDB 2.04 is out, there are still quite a few features that need to be addressed as part of the inline builds for 2.04. To keep everyone up-to-date on what is on tap for 2.04, the ElevateDB roadmap has been updated. One of the first items that will be addressed in an upcoming build is nested transaction support. This is crucial for making transaction usage in triggers and procedures/functions much easier to handle, as well as allowing for cascading updates/deletes for foreign key constraints. In addition, we are working on a native PHP driver, and hope to have that available soon. We may even do a special promotion, so watch your inbox for a notification.
Finally, some words of caution regarding 2.04:
Please read the release notes that accompany every installation before working with 2.04, and especially before sending any applications that are compiled with 2.04 to customers. If you have any questions at all, do not hesitate to ask. There are a couple of new features in 2.04 that can cause a developer a lot of grief if they do not understand how they work, such as the virtual configuration and the non-standard NULL behavior options. The virtual configurations can cause locking issues if not implemented properly, and the non-standard NULL behavior can cause parsing/compilation errors for SQL, as well as SQL runtime execution errors.
